Job descriptionYou have completed the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) program with the National Payroll institute and / or are working towards the completion of Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) program. You have a minimum of 4-6 years of related work experience in payroll practices and procedures in a large scale, union environment. You possess a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory payroll position in a unionized environment. You are proficient in computer operation and software applications related to the payroll field. You can work with constant interruptions while meeting deadlines. You are adept at supervising payroll employees and possess sound judgement and decision-making abilities.
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our Client's team in Langley. Based in an environment rewarding attention to detail, the successful candidate will enjoy working in a diverse role and being part of a highly collaborative team. The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package inclusive of a pension plan and great benefits.
The Role :
- Review and ensure the accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all payrolls.
- Document and meet compliance requirements through the preparation of a variety of payroll-related documents.
- Reconcile and audit account balances.
- Resolve discrepancies in payroll information and / or documentation.
- Prepare and reconcile various reports like pension reports, WorkSafe BC reports, etc.
- Audit and compile data for maintaining monthly reporting and remittances.
- Maintain payroll information, files, and records.
- Supervise and train new employees, and support the Payroll Manager in corrective disciplinary actions.
- Consult with Human Resources on the interpretation and application of various collective agreement provisions.
- Lead the implementation of the payroll module of a new ERP system.
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
