We are looking for an individual who wants to be challenged and is ready to join a dynamic team that is rapidly expanding. This position will be based out of our Vancouver offices. The role of the Senior Electrical Distribution Engineer is to provide technical expertise for electrical distribution infrastructure (poles wires vault duct bank and cable) in accordance with client standards engineering principles guidelines policies and safety standards.
This position could be based out of any of our offices in major centers across Canada including; Vancouver Kelowna Calgary Edmonton Regina GTA Montreal area or Quebec City area.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the efficient and effective daytoday operation of the distribution team from response to service requests to project delivery;
- Develop design work packages with scope schedule and effort estimates
- Resolve design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information recommending safe engineering designs to support successful operations and / or project completion.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of Distribution engineering services to be provided establishing the basic design criteria with the client approving technical documentation and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards objectives and specifications to support completion of projects safely with quality within budget and on time.
- Provide specialized expertise in Distribution and actively mentor coach and set high standards for work performance influencing the establishment of standards frameworks and targets for junior members of the team.
- Exercise innovation to propose creative modifications to improve work processes guidelines instructions procedures and standards where possible.
- Design overhead line structures and associated facilities for voltages up to 35kV in an electric utility environment such as equipment supports / foundations termination structures manholes / vaults duct banks
Qualifications :
The expected salary for this position is from $105440 to $140 000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidates experience training skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
