Job descriptionConduct mobile and foot patrols in various settings to maintain a secure environment. Monitor and operate CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems while adhering to established security protocols and procedures. Interact professionally with customers, employees, and visitors on the property, intervening to resolve conflicts or disputes using effective communication skills. Supervise entry and exit points, ensuring restricted areas remain secure through surveillance and access control systems. Observe activities to detect and prevent potential security breaches. Respond promptly and decisively to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of the property and its occupants. Manage difficult or irate callers and effectively de-escalate tense situations over the phone. Valid provincial security guard license Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for clear and effective reporting and interaction with clients and team members. Advanced computer skills- experience with data entry and documentation. Advanced interpersonal and proactive engagement skills with demonstrating active listening skills by fully focusing on other Ability to respond effectively to active threats or violent incidents with speed, precision and decisiveness Maintain awareness of surrounding and potential risks High school diploma or equivalent Criminal justice or police foundations diploma is an asset First aid and CPR certification is an asset Previous security experience is required, with a proven ability to handle a variety of situations. Dispatch experience is an asset 1 year minimum of customer service experience Willingness to accept shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, including evenings, weekends, and winter periods Must own a vehicle and be willing to travel within Edmonton city limits and surrounding areas, including St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, and Fort Saskatchewan. Legally entitled to work in Canada Ability to represent GardaWorld with integrity and professionalism
