What does a ADHOC Security Guard do in Edmonton?
Conduct mobile and foot patrols in various settings to maintain a secure environment.Monitor and operate CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems while adhering to established security protocols and procedures.Interact professionally with customers, employees, and visitors on the property, intervening to resolve conflicts or disputes using effective communication skills.Supervise entry and exit points, ensuring restricted areas remain secure through surveillance and access control systems. Observe activities to detect and prevent potential security breaches.Respond promptly and decisively to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of the property and its occupants.Manage difficult or irate callers and effectively de-escalate tense situations over the phone.Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a ADHOC Security Guard do in Edmonton?
Valid provincial security guard licenseStrong verbal and written communication skills are essential for clear and effective reporting and interaction with clients and team members.Advanced computer skills- experience with data entry and documentation.Advanced interpersonal and proactive engagement skills with demonstrating active listening skills by fully focusing on otherAbility to respond effectively to active threats or violent incidents with speed, precision and decisivenessMaintain awareness of surrounding and potential risksHigh school diploma or equivalentCriminal justice or police foundations diploma is an assetFirst aid and CPR certification is an assetPrevious security experience is required, with a proven ability to handle a variety of situations.Dispatch experience is an asset1 year minimum of customer service experienceWillingness to accept shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, including evenings, weekends, and winter periodsMust own a vehicle and be willing to travel within Edmonton city limits and surrounding areas, including St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, and Fort Saskatchewan.Legally entitled to work in CanadaAbility to represent GardaWorld with integrity and professionalismSSEDM
