Job Overview :

Our Telecommunications client is looking to build a Testing Team to help them with their CRM Transformation Program which will be the gradual transition from the current CRM and its applications to Salesforce on all their lines of business.
Salesforce will then be used for all wireless and wireline interactions, including self-serve capabilities, and will be completed in a phased approach.
This initiative will enable Business and Consumer customers to manage their purchases of wireline and wireless products across all customer channels.
Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Defect Coordinator to join our Quality Assurance team.
In this role, the Defect Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the defect management process, ensuring that defects are reported, tracked, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and experience working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that high-quality software products are delivered.

Job Responsibilities :

Analyze requirements, rules, and specifications for test components and develop into strategies, plans, and cases in the delivery stage of SDLC

Leads defect triaging, impact assessment,t and timely closure of defects across various sub-projects; maintains consolidated Defect Log and Traceability Matrix

Leads Impact Analysis; coordinates with other Test Leads to get a common understanding of defects and leads to defect triaging for timely closure of defects

Classifies defects based on priority, severity, and impacted areas; works with respective project managers and project teams for timely closure of defects

Defect Coordinator provides Defect status reporting and compiles various defect metrics

Collaborates with Test Team for scheduling and retesting of defects; ensures status of all defects across sub-systems, sub-projects, and test cycles are updated in OpenText ALM Quality Center.

Escalates unresolved or unexpected delays of defect fixes to the Test Lead / Test Manager or PM as required.

Managing the SLA for defect fixes - reminders to keep defects on track

Tracks all defects and reports defect status and metrics on a daily basis

Follows up with all required stakeholders on actions required on the defects

Identifies and escalates defect risks

Testing software on the application when required

Use processes and templates

Utilize appropriate testing tools

Self-motivated individual with expertise in small to medium projects who can take on the Test Lead role with confidence and little guidance other than the logistical areas.

Experience in scripting

Required Skills and Experience :

Minimum four (4) years of experience in Software Testing

Minimum three (3) years of experience working on projects

Minimum two (2) years of experience in defect coordination working on projects

Experience in Telco business functions and processes

Experience in Test case creation, execution, and reporting

Experience with OpenText ALM Quality Center / OpenText Testing Suite Experience with automated test script creation, execution and maintenance

Self-motivated individual with expertise in small to medium-sized projects who can take on the Test Lead role, if necessary, with confidence and little guidance

Soft Skills :

Defect Coordinator must have the following soft skills to ensure that performance requirements meet the expectations. This is not a complete list and reserves the right to consider other skills if / when the candidates are interviewed for specific project requirements.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, easy to understand

Must be able to manage multiple assignments with staggered deadlines

Must have exceptional interpersonal, team-player, leadership, and documentation skills

Must have expert knowledge of quality assurance methodologies

Strong team and task management skills

Must possess a good understanding of SDLC (Solution Development Lifecycle) and QA (Quality Assurance) concepts, metric analysis, methodologies and documentation standards

Domain Knowledge Requirements :

Defect Coordinator shall have Domain Knowledge with the following, but not limited to :

CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Tools

Mobile Workforce Management

eCommerce Platforms

Assurance

Telecommunications / Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Certifications & Education Requirements :

A university degree in Administration or Commerce or Engineering or Computer Science or other post-secondary education is acceptable.

ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification, is desired

Education is IQAS (International Qualifications Assessment Service) and / or WES (World Education Services) Certified

Mandatory Requirement :

Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working with Salesforce and IFS software testing and / or implementations of Salesforce and IFS.
