We are currently looking to hire a Respiratory Therapist for a client to work with their Cardio-Respiratory Team.
Location : Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Duties will include but not be limited to :
Maintain mechanical ventilation and client transport needs;
Provide general respiratory therapeutic duties;
Evaluate client respiratory care plans;
Make recommendations to physicians as noted;
Provide other tests and diagnostic procedures related to respiratory therapy;
Maintain technical support for respiratory equipment;
Educate clients and staff on respiratory equipment and management of respiratory diseases;
Prepare correspondence, and reports, and maintain professional records;
Access respiratory status to treat the patient accordingly;
Assist the Cardio-Respiratory Manager with the development and implementation of policies and procedures, workload measurement, audits and accreditation;
Develop, implement, coordinate and participate in the orientation of clinical aspects pertaining to your role,
Provide direction and supervision, and manages day to day responsibilities of RT staff;
Performing other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree with a designation in Respiratory Therapy or diploma with relevant working experience;
Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist or able to register as a Respiratory Therapist;
Either licensed or eligible for licensing with the College of Allied Health Professionals of PEI;
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
Must have completed ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
Possess computing skills;
Ability to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate respiratory department operations as a member of a multi-disciplinary management team is necessary.
Ability to function in a highly complex environment, interpret, analyze and present data of a complex nature is required.
Other Qualifications :
Respiratory Therapy experience in ICU and neonatal care would be considered assets.
Bilingual would be an asset.
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
