Job description
Located in the welcoming community of Amherst, Nova Scotia, our clinic has been a trusted part of local healthcare for many years. We are a family‑focused dental practice committed to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a supportive and professional environment. Our team brings extensive experience from diverse clinical backgrounds, allowing us to offer a wide range of services to patients of all ages.
We provide comprehensive dental care, including routine exams, dental hygiene services, restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures including fillings, veneers, bridges, root canal therapy, implant crowns and more. We also offer options to support anxious patients, including nitrous oxide sedation.
Our clinic is proud to serve the close knit Amherst community from our conveniently located office on Maple Avenue. We value long‑term patient relationships, continuous learning, and a collaborative team culture. Joining our practice means becoming part of a supportive environment where patient comfort, clinical excellence, and community connection are at the heart of everything we do. What Sets Us Apart:
  • Grow Without Limits: We’ll match your ambition, curiosity and drive to be your best with award-winning education, hands-on experience, real recognition and proven pathways that grow your expertise on your terms.
  • Brilliant Rewards: Competitive pay with annual reviews, RRSP matching to grow your future, and a comprehensive total-rewards package, which includes gym discounts, insurance savings, entertainment deals, and more, along with access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program. Inhouse dental benefits, paid license fees and uniform allowance are offered by the practice.
  • Build Your Career with Us: Be part of a team that shares expertise, tackles challenges together, and works with modern technology, tools, and systems so you can focus on what matters most: patient care, professional development, and practice growth.
  • Culture & Flexibility: Career development with industry-leading CE, social and networking events, and a flexible, work-life balanced environment that supports your professional growth.

Your Role:
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

About You:
  • Registered as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
  • NDAEB Certification.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
Application Information: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities and patients we serve. While we thank all applicants for their interest, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted. Applicants who require accommodation during the application or hiring process are encouraged to contact our Recruitment Team; all requests will be reviewed and addressed on a case-by-case basis.
