Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees.
Job Title : Manager of Temporary Resident Settlement Services
Location : St. Johns, NL
Position Type : 1 full-time position until March 31, 2026 with possibility of extension pending budget availability and satisfactory performance

Reporting to the Director of Resettlement and Settlement Services, the Manager of Temporary Resident Settlement Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery and reporting of provincially funded settlement services. This role ensures that clients are supported to successfully transition to life in Newfoundland and Labrador, through effective team management, coordination of resources, and collaboration.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Manage program staff to ensure delivery of settlement services meets established outcomes
- Directly supervise staff serving temporary residents, including Settlement Officers
- Oversee settlement service delivery, ensuring compliance with policies and federal / provincial privacy and reporting regulations
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of client and program documentation
- Work closely with division managers and coordinators to ensure high quality, wrap-around services for all newcomers in the province
- Develop joint initiatives with ANC divisions to address client needs and optimize service delivery
- Collaborate with internal teams including LINC, Employment and Satellite Offices to provide referral information, ensuring comprehensive support for clients
- Continuously monitor and improve the input of client profiles and service statistics in NewOrg, for use in monthly, quarterly and annual reports; implement improvements to enhance service quality
- Ensure program operations comply with agency policies, funder agreements, and regulatory requirements
- Proactively identify and address program challenges, escalating unresolved issues as needed
- Regularly review and update program policies and procedures to enhance service delivery
- Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to program staff, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Facilitate professional development opportunities and training to build staff capacity in settlement services
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and resolve team conflicts when necessary
- Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, external stakeholders, and relevant organizations to enhance program delivery and provide high quality settlement services for eligible clients
- Support the Director in ensuring programs meet funder requirements, including specified outcomes, financial compliance, and timely reporting
