Your opportunity :
The Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA) is a collaborative partnership of leading academic and healthcare institutions working to advance research that prevents, treats and improves care for individuals at risk for, or living with, dementia. By promoting collaboration among basic and clinical researchers, learners, clinicians and community partners, TDRA accelerates the development and translation of impactful dementia research.
As a Research Officer, you will collaborate with the Executive Director and other members of leadership to support the planning, execution and evaluation of research projects. Your success in this role will depend on your strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methods, along with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with academic, clinical and community stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Implementing and executing qualitative and quantitative research methods
Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders, including informing on project progress and coordinating meeting schedules
Supporting research initiatives by conducting systematic literature reviews, analyzing results, preparing draft statistical reports for research papers
Drafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board for approval
Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
Essential Qualifications :
Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience conducting research, analyzing, interpreting and reporting on results, preferably in dementia, aging, or neurodegenerative disease research
Demonstrated experience coordinating research projects, implementing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and coordinating the recruitment of study participants
Experience coordinating research award adjudication processes and research grants, including a demonstrated understanding of research granting life cycle and knowledge of research ethics board processes
Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection, interpretation and analysis
Experience drafting summaries of research results, contributing to abstracts, editing grant applications and conducting literature reviews
Experience planning and coordinating logistics for events and preparing surveys and questionnaires
Experience contributing to knowledge translation tools and drafting related communications
Advanced proficiency with M365, survey tools and data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, R)
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal), with ability to work independently but also effectively as part of a multi-professional project team
Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, and to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple processes
Exercises good judgment, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
