Position Summary

Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to join a team supporting education and research, transforming lives, and contributing to economic growth. The Senior Development Officer will manage a diverse portfolio of donor relationships, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, and will report to the Dean of Medicine and the Associate Director, Development.

Key Responsibilities

Implement fundraising strategies aligned with university goals.

Manage a portfolio of active donors to maximize donations.

Supervise and coach development staff.

Support campaign fundraising and administration of fundraising processes.

Develop and execute individual and campaign-specific fundraising strategies.

Manage major gift portfolios, including prospect discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Support senior leadership and volunteers in donor relationship management.

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of fundraising activities.

Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in fundraising, resource development, or related fields.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Experience cultivating donors and securing major gifts.

Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.

Leadership ability, sound judgment, and integrity.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.

CFRE designation and experience managing staff are assets.

Willingness to work non-traditional hours, attend events, and travel within the country.
