Job Summary
The role of Expert Solution / System Integration is to drive software development and integration of next generation of Railroad Industry's Energy Management Solutions. These solutions integrate with advanced infrastructures; telecom networks; industrial IoT, software development platforms; application and technology driven solutions. The expert ensures that all business requirements are fulfilled by the project team, and also contributes to the global evolution of CN's I&T.
Clients can be from within I&T and / or direct interaction with internal business partners. Considerable emphasis is given to leading technical interactions with 3rd party software development partners. The Expert must connect the dots between application, telecom, infrastructure, and business processes. The key is to ensure that the technology delivered is secure, reliable, available, resilient, performant, and aligned with safety standards as per business requirements. The Expert works with teams and stakeholders across CN and across the industry. To be successful, the person needs strong influential skills in order to align stakeholders and Integrators with the goals set by CN leadership.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Contribute to solution designs by identifying the existing capabilities and sharing it with Solution / System Designers.
- Provide guidance on required deployment tasks.
- Estimate the overall solution costs (e.g. telecom, S&C, vendor, infrastructure, development, etc.) and share information with the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Create technical diagrams and find ways to improve them.
- Work with Project Managers during the planning phases and identify skillsets and challenges applicable to deployments.
- Deploy solutions based on the Service Catalog within domain(s) of expertise and feed the Architecture teams when solutions are not available.
