Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Clerical Supervisor to join the team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As a Clerical Supervisor with VCH you will :

  • Supervise more than ten (10) designated staff and oversees the coordination of clerical workflow for designated areas within the department of Radiology such as supervising work activities, scheduling and coordinating staff and conducting performance evaluations in conjunction with supervisor.
  • Review and revise policies and procedures, sets up protocols for methods of operation, coordinates implementation of new work methods and / or systems and troubleshoots Hospital and Radiology Information Systems for assigned areas.
  • Monitor expenditures and make recommendations to supervisor regarding budget for designated areas.
  • Perform patient registration, appointment scheduling and other clerical functions as required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, graduation from a recognized medical office program plus four (4) years' recent, related experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • May require a valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with the current collective agreement.
  • Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to keyboard at 50 .
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

    The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
