Maritime Electric Company, Limited located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island has an immediate opening for the position of Regulatory Analyst. Reporting to the Director, Regulatory and Financial Planning, the Regulatory Analyst is a key member of the Company’s Regulatory and Financial Planning team, working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for reviewing and analyzing the accounting records, operational data and financial records of the Company to support business planning and capital planning processes as well as regulatory applications and filings. You will assist in preparing responses to questions, data requests and compliance filings from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission Staff and other stakeholders.
As the successful candidate, you will have strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and stakeholders. The ability to manage multiple priorities and produce results within tight deadlines is required.
The position requires a professional accounting designation (CPA) with three to five years’ work experience. Experience working in a regulated utility or other environment where highly analytical and compliance work activities is considered an asset.
This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is between $85,000 to $110,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
