Garibaldi Glass Industries Inc. is seeking a precise, analytical, and adaptable Purchasing Leader to oversee our procurement operations and lead a high-performing team in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of Buyers and Logistics Professionals to meet performance goals and KPIs
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans and vendor negotiations to optimize cost, quality and delivery
- Manage procurement of glass and related materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules and budget targets
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Ensure compliance with Canadian procurement regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supply chain issues and improve purchasing processes
- Utilize ERP and vendor management systems to manage orders, invoices, and inventory
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles (e.g., Kanban, Kaizen)

Working Conditions
The Purchasing Leader will primarily work in a comfortable office environment with occasional exposure to dust, noise, and other mild environmental factors. The role involves moderate mental demands due to managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. While the majority of responsibilities are office-based, the Purchasing Leader must be comfortable entering and working within the production floor as needed. The manufacturing area is a safety-sensitive environment that includes mobile equipment and overhead cranes, requiring awareness of safety protocols and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the floor.
