Position Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Canada is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating in the nuclear market, providing solutions from small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental, and nuclear security capabilities. With 135 years of construction and engineering excellence, we serve power utilities, renewable energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets.
Location
The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare requisitions that meet design specifications and applicable codes and standards, drawings, systems classification records, bill of materials, etc.
- Prepare technical specifications or proposal RFQ’s to support proposal or project execution.
- Evaluate vendors’ quotations and recommend vendor selection based on performance specifications, pricing and guarantees.
- Identify requirements for purchasing items and services.
- Implement and assign the Quality Assurance program for procured items.
- Review customer specifications and design documents.
- Interface with the design service and customer on design‑related matters.
- Support the constructability review team as part of the design evolution, and interface with design engineering to address findings and resolve issues.
- Receive, review, accept, assemble, and maintain documentation for use in preparing work packages for design compliance.
- Communicate technical and quality requirements to the preparation of construction drawings, procedures, etc.
- Support proposal development for engineering services and engineered equipment.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to Project Coordinators.
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator, Trades Supervision, and Quality Specialist to complete the CITP.
- Coordinate and support preparation of the commissioning / pre‑operational test plan in accordance with the test / plant specification.
- Conduct final walk‑down and approve walk‑down punch lists as required for construction close‑out.
- Collaborate with external engineers and internal team to create detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Provide support on technical solutions to non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and / or site requirements for permanent works.
- Establish interface control, including assignment of responsibility and preparation of procedures among participating design organizations for review, approval, release, distribution, and revision of documents involving design interfaces.
- Perform other duties as required.
