About Open Ocean Robotics

We are on a mission to transform how we understand our oceans, and we’re looking for a Finance and Payroll Accountant to help us scale our impact.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Accountant to manage bookkeeping, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, benefits administration, and office operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly while supporting our team’s operational needs.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about innovation, sustainability, and making a difference in ocean conservation.
What You’ll Do
Finance & Accounting
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable / receivable and project tracking.
- Verify and record income and expenses with proper documentation.
- Prepare and send invoices to customers, ensuring timely payments.
- Generate financial reports and assist with budgeting across all departments.
- Maintain accurate records and support financial statement preparation and tax reporting.
- Prepare, submit, and track grant and loan claims.

Location : Victoria, BC (hybrid)
Employment Type : Full time (40 hours per week)
Compensation : $52k - $68k / year plus 4 weeks vacation, extended health benefits, and stock options.
