Job Purpose
The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems and industrial control processes using PLCs.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for automated systems.
- Integrate sensors, drives, HMIs, robotics, and communication networks into new and existing machinery.
- Diagnose electrical, control, and automation issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including electrical schematics, PLC / HMI programs, network diagrams, and safety system records.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support continuous improvement and automation upgrades.
- Configure, program, and troubleshoot robotic systems, including basic setup and operational support.
- Optimize and enhance existing automation systems to improve reliability, efficiency, and uptime.
- Plan and manage automation projects, ensuring milestones, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of automation and control systems.
- Provide training to maintenance and production personnel on new equipment, system updates, and operational changes.
- Ensure all equipment and automation processes meet safety requirements and support ongoing safety enhancements.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
