Job Title : Production Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining production machines on the manufacturing floor. You will read ingredient lists, weigh and measure ingredients, label boxes and pails accurately, feed ingredients into hoppers and machines, and troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise. You will also complete production reports, set up, start-up, and take down equipment, take samples for quality, and wash down equipment. This role involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive lifting and movement.

Responsibilities

• Read ingredient lists and weigh and measure ingredients
• Label boxes and pails accurately
• Feed ingredients into hoppers and machines
• Operate different machines on the production floor
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
• Complete production reports
• Set up, start up, and take down equipment
• Take samples for quality
• Wash down equipment
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach during daily tasks
• Perform repetitive lifting and movement
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously (3 machines per line)
• Bring packaging materials for the machine
• Schedule breaks and lunches for the team
• Know when to call for maintenance or sanitation

Work Environment

The work environment is a food manufacturing setting with 3 shifts. The facility runs 9-12 lines with 3 operators per line, producing bulk chocolate for customers. The team size is 110 across all shifts. You will report to the Team Lead in the Depositing department, then to the Shift Supervisor, and ultimately to the Production Manager. The base pay is $19.75 / hour, increasing to $20.74 after 1000 hours, with a $1.25 / hour premium for Afternoon and Graveyard shifts.

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $20.00
