Job description

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for your next challenge? Our client in Mississauga is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for an onsite contract position.  If you have a strong background in full-cycle accounting, month-end procedures, and financial operations, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities : Month-End Close :

  • Perform month-end closing procedures.
  • Research and resolve out-of-balance issues between the GL and sub-ledger.

Account Reconciliation & Entries :

  • Analyze, amortize, and reconcile prepaid accounts.
  • Prepare assigned journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

    • Accounting Operations :

  • Conduct credit checks on new accounts and update customer records.
  • Ensure the accuracy of subscription billing, rates, and payments.
  • Oversee parcel billing, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Review and approve AP payments, including wire / ACH payments.
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable and related activities.
  • Evaluate and update policies and procedures annually.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of general accounting / audit experience
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in SAGE, TMA, SAP, or similar software is highly valued.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Exposure to credit and collections is a plus.
