Summary
The Product Development Consultant will lead the development of a new life insurance product and market, and building the Fund’s Business Case for regulatory approval. The role will include conducting market research, liaising with Fund advisors in the development of product and market plus financial and capital projections. Additionally, the Consultant will participate with the CEO and legal counsel in the regulatory approval process.
Upon approval of regulatory approval, the Consultant will manage the project implementation. This stage includes developing the Project Charter and Plan in conjunction with the CEO for approval by the Fund’s Committee and Board.
This role reports to the CEO and the Fund’s Committee.
Key Responsibilities
1.Product and Market Development
- Evaluate and develop a project plan for product development and approval
- Finalize product specifications addressing risks
- Research market and finalize market specifications
- In conjunction with Fund advisors, evaluate profitability and capital projections, return on investment
- Finalize business model and operational requirements
- Build Business Case with relevant financial reports for submission to regulator
- In conjunction with the CEO and the Fund’s legal counsel, participate in the regulatory approval process

Key Requirements
1.5+ years of experience in product development, specifically within the life insurance industry (non-profit or for-profit sectors) and the regulatory approval process.
2.Strong knowledge of life insurance industry, including life insurance products, underwriting processes, actuarial practices and regulations.
3.Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
4.Demonstrated ability to manage product development projects, meet deadlines, and navigate through regulatory and internal approval processes, preferably in the life insurance industry.
Desired Skills and Experience – must haves
1.Proven track record of managing or contributing to market expansion projects.
2.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
3.Strong leadership abilities, with experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
4.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications & Skills – preferred
1.Experience working in the non-profit sector, especially in financial products or services.
2.Familiarity with digital tools, technology and emerging trends in life insurance product development.

Start Date : March 1, 2025
Contract Period : 2025-2026
