Services de Gestion Quantum LtéeOshawa, Ontario, CanadaPosition : Procurement Specialist Location : Courtice, Ontario (100% onsite) Job Type : 3-year assignment Hours : 35 hours per week (potential for additional hours) Overview : Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in serving as an information hub for users, requisitionners, and suppliers on procurement processes and commercial considerations. This role involves responding to vendor inquiries, participating in site meetings, assessing market conditions, and developing procurement strategies to meet the needs of the organization. Key Responsibilities : - Act as a primary information resource on procurement processes and commercial considerations. - Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to plan, coordinate, and status various items and services. - Assess market conditions and recommend sourcing strategies to support competitive sourcing. - Review and maintain approved vendor lists, monitoring suppliers' performance. - Lead sourcing team initiatives and ensure governance related to strategic sourcing teams is adhered to. - Prepare and review procurement documents such as RFQs, RFPs, contracts, and purchase orders. - Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and make award recommendations. - Administer contracts to ensure obligations are fulfilled, including reviewing claims and progress payments. - Monitor vendor performance and assess performance records for future business decisions. - Perform inventory management activities and identify opportunities to optimize inventory levels. - Make suggestions to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications : - Experience as a Procurement Specialist with knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly, and testing practices. - Familiarity with commercial and industrial standards, inspection procedures, and contract law. - Strong understanding of procurement processes and practices within a corporate environment. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. - 4-6 years of relevant experience required.
