Job descriptionCertified Building Technologist in Architectural, Civil / Structural or Building Science related programs or Graduate of College or University Level Engineering Architectural, Civil / Structural, or Building Science related programs. 3-5 years experience at engineering consulting firm Attained or working toward professional engineering or technology license Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders, operating swing stages, and accessing rooftops A valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle for travel to project sites is required (work related mileage is reimbursed) Own personal form of transportation. Ability to manage several tasks and prioritize these are required Excellent oral and written communication skills Working knowledge of AutoCAD Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective and responsive communication with the project team and clients. Working knowledge of building components, building envelope and structural system preferred. Knowledge of building and fire codes is an asset but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Our client, a Canadian multidisciplinary engineering and building science firm, is seeking Intermediate / Senior Building Science Specialists for their Ottawa office. These are permanent positions, paying between 60-85k (Junior / Intermediate) and 80-110k (Intermediate / Senior), including a competitive benefits and vacation package with RRSP matching. These positions will be mostly in-office, with Fridays allocated as a weekly work from home day.
