Job description
We are seeking qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE) to provide emergency staffing support to nurseries and daycare centres across Toronto. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for early childhood education who are flexible and can respond quickly to staffing needs. Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in nursery or daycare settings.
Support the delivery of age-appropriate learning activities and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Collaborate with daycare / nursery staff to ensure smooth transitions and consistent care during emergency cover periods.
Creates a stimulating and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, ensuring the safety of children enrolled in the program through direct supervision, and attendance protocols;
Participates and engages in all activities with the children;
Updates, develops and ensures positive, professional communication with parents / families, community partners, outside agencies, co-workers and support staff, an on an ongoing basis;
Supports staff and classrooms as needed (e.g. staff breaks, programming time, etc.);
Ensures classroom environment is kept clean and neat, including all activity and program areas, and common spaces, including toy washing and sanitizing;
Ensures that written records are accurately documented and maintained including attendance records, symptoms of ill health, daily classroom logs, etc.;
Complies with the Child Care Early Years Act
Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships Essential Requirements
Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification : Must be certified to work in Ontario.
Early Childhood Education : Completion of 2 years’ college
First Aid & CPR Certification : Mandatory, with an additional bonus for First Aid & CPR (Infant) certification or willingness to obtain at own cost.
Experience : Previous experience in childcare or nursery settings is essential
Checks : Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost;
Medical : Must provide a TB test, proof of Tetanus (within 10 years) and proof of MMR immunizations; Additional
Having a car : Highly advantageous for traveling to different nurseries and daycare centres within Toronto on short notice.
