Position Overview : As a Patent Lawyer at Mira, you will play a crucial role in managing and protecting our intellectual property portfolio related to in vitro diagnostic technologies. You will work closely with our R&D teams, legal department, and external patent counsel to develop and execute strategies for patent acquisition, enforcement, and litigation. Your expertise will ensure that our innovations are effectively safeguarded and that we maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patent Strategy Development : Develop and implement strategies for patent protection and portfolio management in alignment with the company's business objectives and innovation pipeline.
- Patent Preparation and Prosecution : Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications related to in vitro diagnostic technologies, ensuring robust and enforceable intellectual property rights.
- IP Portfolio Management : Manage and oversee the company’s patent portfolio, including conducting periodic reviews, assessments, and strategic planning to enhance the value and scope of our IP assets.
- Legal Research and Analysis : Conduct thorough research and analysis of patent-related issues, including freedom-to-operate studies, patentability assessments, and infringement analyses.
- Collaboration with R&D Teams : Work closely with research and development teams to understand new technologies, provide legal guidance on patent-related matters, and identify opportunities for patent protection.
- Patent Litigation and Enforcement : Handle or oversee patent litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, managing litigation strategies, and enforcing patent rights against infringers.
- Regulatory and Compliance Issues : Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to patenting and intellectual property, and advise on regulatory issues impacting patent strategy.
- Training and Awareness : Provide training and guidance to internal teams on intellectual property matters, including patent policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications :
Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills.
