Job Title: Aircraft Painter

Job Description

Join our dynamic team where your painting skills will shine. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for a range of tasks from cleaning and prepping surfaces to sanding, painting, and metal treatment. You will work closely with the team to ensure high-quality finishes on various aircraft types, including King Air, Saab340, Twin Otter, Caravan, and Pilatus PC-12.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily team planning sessions.
• Clean, prep, and paint assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of hoses and floors.
• Sand, paint, prep, and treat metal surfaces.
• Assist in aircraft disassembly and part masking.
• Perform paint stripping and window/antenna taping for protection.
• Chemical treat surfaces as required.
• Support painters with preparation, washing, and post-prime steps.
• Hand scuff surfaces to ensure new paint adherence when necessary.
• Utilize sandpaper, air tools, die grinders, orbital sanders, hand scrapers, emery cloths, and rags.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of autobody or aircraft experience.
• Proficiency in paint prep, industrial sanding, and industrial painting.
• Experience using spray guns and industrial paint.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and technical data sheets.
• Experience in paint mixing and application.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of a paint prep school (UFV, BCIT, Vancouver Career College, Autobody refinishing technician course) is a plus.
• Ability to use pressure pots and regular paint guns.
• Familiarity with standard epoxy paints.

Work Environment

The work environment is loud and noisy, requiring PPE such as gloves, respirators, safety glasses, earplugs, rain jackets, and pants. Safety boots are necessary. The role involves working indoors, Monday to Friday, for 40 hours a week. The workplace is transit accessible and equipped with necessary tools like HE or RP paint guns and pressure pots.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
