Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The Crematory Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and respectful operation of cremation equipment. This role ensures that all cremation procedures are conducted in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, while providing compassionate and professional service to families. The operator must maintain accurate records, ensure equipment is in good working condition, and support funeral home operations as needed. While the position typically requires availability Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is also necessary to meet operational demands.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate unique situations.
- Proficient in using computer applications and email for scheduling and information gathering.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in documents.
- Ability to drive safely and efficiently, using GPS or other methods to locate addresses.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Capable of working independently and following prescribed routines and procedures for cremation operations.
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
