Unit Summary
The Prosthetics and Orthotics Department (P&O) offers two areas of service including prosthetics and orthotics. Patient care in both areas is provided following a written referral from a physician and with cooperation with other members of the healthcare team. These services are provided for both inpatients and outpatients from the Hamilton-Wentworth area and from surrounding regions.
Position Summary
The Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician will assist in the fabrication of custom orthoses and custom prostheses.
Schedule Work HoursMonday to Friday; days
Qualifications
1. Successful completion of the Prosthetic and Orthotic Technical Program at George Brown College.
2. Ability and willingness to provide assistance in both prosthetics and orthotics on a variable schedule.
3. Motivated and self-directed individual with an ability to duplicate shape and form from tracings and / or measurements.
