JomboneWilliams Lake, British ColumbiaThe Role : As a Registered Nurse in the High Acuity Unit (HAU), you will be responsible for delivering specialized care to patients with complex medical needs requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. This role involves rapid assessment, critical thinking, and effective communication with an interdisciplinary team to provide responsive and patient-centered care in a high-stress, high-stakes environment.
Responsibilities :
Provide direct, high-level care for patients with acute and complex health conditions, stabilizing and monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing advanced interventions as required.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, continuously monitor conditions, and document findings, including any changes in health status or response to treatments.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families about their health conditions, post-care instructions, and preventative health practices to support recovery and ongoing health management.
Maintain a safe, organized environment by adhering to clinical protocols, infection control guidelines, and unit procedures.
Requirements :
Current Registered Nurse license in good standing within the province.
ACLS and BLS certification required; additional certifications (TNCC, PALS) are an asset.
Minimum of 2 years of recent Canadian experience in High Acuity, Emergency Room, or related critical care settings.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills to handle complex patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and patient-centered care.
