Music Instructor (0.30 FTE Continuing) Maverick School Competition #3416 The Chinook School Division requires a part time (.30 FTE) continuing Music Instructor at Maverick School beginning August 27, 2024. Maverick School is an alternative, student driven, academic high school (Grade 10-12) with 6 teachers. The Chinook School Division is proud to serve nearly 6,000 students in 60 schools, with over 1,000 collegial and student-centered teachers and support staff. We are a vibrant and progressive school division located within Saskatchewan's great Southwest. Qualifications : Demonstrated knowledge of Maverick School; Providing instruction with multiple instruments : guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums; Instructional focus is contemporary pop, rock, and rap music; The ability to teach from the beginner to the advanced levels; Knowledge of music production, beat making, songwriting, and performance would be an asset; Knowledge of Applied Control Theory would be considered an asset; Experience working in an alternative learning environment; Effective interpersonal and communication skills; Willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a team teach scenario and an ability to work in a team environment; A teaching philosophy that reflects a constructivist and cooperative learning approach; Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, PLC’s, professionals and community service agencies; Demonstrated ability to connect with youth in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom; Certified as a Teacher in good standing in Saskatchewan or the ability to be certified is a requirement.
