30 FTE) continuing Music Instructor at Maverick School beginning August 27, 2024. Maverick School is an alternative, student driven, academic high school (Grade 10-12) with 6 teachers.

- take meaningful action. Qualifications : Demonstrated knowledge of Maverick School; Providing instruction with multiple instruments : guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums;
- Instructional focus is contemporary pop, rock, and rap music; The ability to teach from the beginner to the advanced levels;
- Knowledge of music production, beat making, songwriting, and performance would be an asset; Knowledge of Applied Control Theory would be considered an asset;
- Experience working in an alternative learning environment; Effective interpersonal and communication skills; Willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a team teach scenario and an ability to work in a team environment;
- A teaching philosophy that reflects a constructivist and cooperative learning approach; Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, PLC’s, professionals and community service agencies;
- Demonstrated ability to connect with youth in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom;
