We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our amazing team!
Job Purpose
The Accounting Clerk performs accounting-related tasks utilizing knowledge of the entire accounting cycle. This position performs accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
Core Accountabilities
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including processing invoices and payments, posting transactions, depositing cheques, reconciling accounts, conducting account analyses, and preparing reports.
- Maintain financial books by recording day-to-day accounting journal entries.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and financial summaries for the Senior Controller.
- Maintain both electronic and paper filing systems.
- Contact and follow up with utility companies, contractors, and municipalities, vendors for account setup, disconnections, invoice revisions, and inquiries.
- Prepare government remittances, including source deductions, corporation tax, and HST.
- Generate information for year-end financial statements preparation.
- Process inter-company reconciliations, adjustments, journal entries, and balance the General Ledger.
- Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining office supplies, managing correspondence, handling inquiries, responding to emails, printing, scanning, filing, and dealing with mail & courier items.
- Support team members with administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while ensuring compliance with company policies.
