Intertek is searching for an Director to join our Caleb Brett team in our Vancouver, British Columbia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career with Caleb Brett!

The Director is responsible for leading the Canadian team on the strategic development of the business, identifying, developing plans, and executing on new areas for growth.

What you’ll do:

Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive. Duties may include the following:

  • Define and develop the commercial strategy for growth in Canada. Working with the Canadian P&L managers, together with the global business line leader for Caleb Brett, to implement the key strategy for sustainable future growth.

  • Identify market segmentation strategies to drive opportunities to win competitor business, grow new market share, and maintain and diversify service offering.

  • Create the openings and execute new sales strategies for the business line.

  • Review current commercial pricing practices and implement a system to ensure a consistent approach to pricing projects, bids and tenders.

  • Assist in reviewing the commercial viability of service offerings; bids, tenders, contracts, and supply in partnership with internal functions.

  • Input the marketing and promotional strategy for the business line, and provide subject matter expertise at conferences, join/ maintain influential presence on associated committees and working groups.

  • Foster effective and constructive communication across all of the stakeholders described above in support of the strategy which has been set.

  • Collect, analyze and counter competitor activity across the sector.

  • Perform other duties as required.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrable industry experience (10+ years) within the petroleum / chemicals trade sector.

  • Thorough knowledge of related industry standards and guidelines

  • Strongly networked in the industry in Canada.

  • Proven ability to set and implement a strategy for quantum revenue growth and optimized market positioning of an organization.

  • Experience in providing technical outsourcing solutions.

  • Strong commercial acumen.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills.

  • Contractual awareness.

  • Change leadership and strong networking skills.

  • Advanced business development sales skills.
