Salary range (but not limited to):

74,800 - 91,400

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

7.5%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for an Underwriter, to join our Cross Border team in Intact Specialty Solutions!

What you’ll do here:

• Analyze requests for quotes, renewals, and policy changes, and recommend solutions when creating multinational programs

• Develop business opportunities and long-term meaningful relationships with brokers & internal teams by providing exceptional service.

• Answer inquiries and make recommendations to brokers and underwriters through verbal and written correspondence.

• Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.

• Participate in meetings with Intact Specialty Solutions underwriting teams to communicate Global Network updates, country changes, and review of upcoming new business and renewal

• Attend broker visits, industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.

• Regularly meet with our Global Network team to refer complex placements, provide feedback on network partners, review time-sensitive situations and monitor premium allocation and collection

• Review underwriting reports and make recommendations as required.

• Support and mentor team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.

• Complete special projects & assignments as needed in support of our Multinational or Specialty Solutions teams

What you bring to the table:

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive underwriting experience in Commercial Property & Casualty or Specialty Lines. Experience with US & International placements is preferred

• Strong customer service skills

• Demonstrates initiative, the ability to work under pressure, and be flexible to change

• Strong analytical, negotiating skills and business savvy

• Technical knowledge of commercial Property & Casualty policy wordings

• Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers and customers

• Can make decisions in time sensitive situations, address complex problems, provide recommended course of action and take calculated risks

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an intermediate Excel proficiency

• Bilingual (English & French) required

• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
