MISSION :

VISION :
Healthy families in healthy communities
ROLE DESCRIPTION :
The Family Centre has a strong reputation for providing quality services basing our work on research and evidence-based practices. We pride ourselves on providing leading-edge training and robust and reflective supervision. Our intention is to create a healthy organization that is intelligent in its response to community issues and intentional about our respectful treatment of each other. We have a strong focus on Trauma-Informed Care for the communities we support and our staff teams. The Family Centre strives to hire a diverse team of employees, reflecting the diverse communities we support.
Mental Health Therapists in the community are part of an integrated service delivery team. They work collaboratively with other service providers in a “circle of support” model for children and their families. Developing relationships with hard to reach parents and caregivers is an important part of this work. Decades of research prove that children’s outcomes are deeply related to family context. The Family Centre uses Two Generations approach to guide all our services, we strive to serve children and their caregivers together to harness the family’s full potential and to put the entire family on a path to long term health and wellness. In the community, about 40% of the work is focused on developing and maintaining relationships, providing informal clinical support to children, school staff and other team members, and group work; 60% of their time would be formal counselling.
At The Family Centre, Therapists provide services to wide range of clients in our offices. Services include Individual, Couple, Family and Group Therapy; Substance Abuse Assessments; Critical Incident Response; Coaching; Psycho-Educational Workshops; EAP Workshops; Organizational Wellness Assessments, and other related duties. (Some additional training may be provided). Full time therapists are expected to work within their set schedules that may include evenings or Saturdays to accommodate high demand times for client appointments. Therapists are expected to meet 70% direct service benchmarks to 30% non-direct service for clinical work at the agency.
Therapists report to their Clinical Supervisors for their work at The Family Centre and in the community.
