The opportunity:
Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources, the AVP Human Resources partners closely with executive leaders to attract, engage, and retain talent in support of corporate growth. This role plays a key part in shaping organizational design, culture, and values, ensuring people strategies are aligned with business priorities.
The AVP collaborates across senior leadership to strengthen organizational effectiveness, agility, and workforce engagement. In partnership with the SVP HR, this role helps build and scale an HR Shared Services model, elevate the HR Business Partner function, and establish Centres of Excellence as the organization continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with the Executive Committee, Investment Advisors and senior leaders to align people operations and HR strategy with corporate objectives
- Lead and develop high‑performing teams across HR Business Partnership, Employee Relations, and HR Shared Services, fostering accountability and a strong service mindset
- Evolve the HR Business Partner model from transactional support to strategic advisory, using data and insights to drive scalable people practices
- Oversee employee relations and disability management strategy, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes across the organization
- Build and mature an HR Shared Services operating model, strengthening self‑service, automation, controls, and service quality
- Partner with IT to advance the HR technology roadmap, including automation, analytics, and AI‑enabled solutions
- Lead HR rewards, performance management, and incentive programs in close partnership with Finance
- Strengthen organizational effectiveness, culture, and engagement through modernized HR programs and governance
- Establish metrics, controls, and governance to support operational maturity, scalability, and continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years in an HR leadership role leading and developing teams
- Proven HR leader with experience across HR Business Partnership, HR Operations, Employee Relations, and service delivery models
- Strong expertise across core HR disciplines, including employment law, investigations, accommodations, payroll, benefits, performance, and rewards
- Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders on complex people, risk, and organizational issues
- Experience designing operating models, policies, KPIs, and driving continuous improvement in scaling organizations
- Strong change management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
- Highly accountable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity with sound judgment and confidentiality
- Experience managing vendors, partners, and HR systems; UKG experience preferred
- Strong technical skills including advanced Excel, Power BI, AI and automation tools, and HR analytics
- Experience in wealth management or another regulated industry considered an asset
- Post‑secondary education in HR, Business, or a related field; CPHR designation preferred
- Bilingual in French and English, both oral and written is considered a strong asset
Conditions of employment:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, anywhere in Canada
