Open Posting - YOUTH JUSTICE WORKERS

Casual Positions in Timmins.

As a member of the Attendance Centre Team, the primary responsibilities will be to provide a host of cognitive, life-skills, and recreational programs to young persons between 12 and 18 years of age who are in conflict with the law in an effort to prevent recidivism.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS) :

  • A University degree in Criminology or Social Work with experience delivering cognitive / clinical programs to youth in a structured environment is preferred. A B.A in other Social Sciences or Community College diplomas in Social Services with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying the legislative acts, regulations, and policies of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and the Agency.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing programs and time management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset.
  • Must have a valid G Class drivers license and use of own vehicle.

À titre de membre du centre de fréquentation obligatoire, vos responsabilités principales seront de fournir une foule de programmes cognitifs, d’aptitudes à la vie quotidienne et récréatifs à des jeunes de 12 à 18 ans qui sont en conflit avec la justice afin de prévenir le récidivisme.

EXIGENCES DE L’EMPLOI (TITRES, QUALITÉS ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES)

  • Un grade universitaire en criminologie ou en travail social avec une exprience de la mise en uvre de programmes cognitifs ou cliniques pour les jeunes dans un environnement structur est prfrable. Un baccalaurat dans dautres sciences sociales ou un diplme collgial en services sociaux avec une exprience pertinente peut tre considr.
  • Une connaissance approfondie et de lexprience en interprtation et en application des lois, des rglements et des politiques du ministre des Services lenfance et la jeunesse et de lorganisme.
  • Une connaissance et de lexprience en mise en uvre de programmes et en gestion du temps.
  • Un excellent sens de lorganisation, un excellent entregent ainsi que dexcellentes aptitudes communiquer.
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais et franais) est un atout.
  • Un permis de conduire valide de la catgorie G et utilisation de son propre vhicule.
