Our vision is to be a church that loves God, is committed to one another, and engages our community.The Director of Children’s Ministry is a committed Christian leader who oversees our church’s efforts to disciple children in our church and broader community. The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for ministering to children, as well as partnering with parents and volunteers. Must be in alignment with RCC’s Vision, Values, and Statement of faith. The anticipated start date is mid-August .Responsibilities With the Senior Pastor, develop a vision and plan for children’s ministry and execute it (ages 0 to 12).Select and review curriculum.Ensure all relevant supplies are purchased and prepared.Recruit, equip, and schedule volunteers.Regularly teach classes and lead children’s worship on Sunday.Participate in staff meetings (weekly or biweekly, TBD).Meet regularly with the Senior Pastor for coaching and accountability.Devote a few hours each week to learning for the sake of developing the children’s ministry over time.Oversee other events (possibly summer day camp, Christmas presentation, children’s outreach programming).Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the Children’s ministry.Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Post-secondary education in religious studies, Christian Education, or a diploma in ECE or equivalent an asset, though not required.Minimum 1+ year experience in children’s ministryCharacter & Competency : A caring shepherd’s heart for children.A creative self-starter who desires to learn and grow.Interpersonal and leadership skills (work with staff, volunteers, parents)Sensitive to children with diverse needs.
