POSITION : Secondary Teacher - temporary
ASSIGNMENT : Guidance, Resource (Gr 10-12) Teacher is responsible for supporting students toward graduation by meeting the Provincial Graduation Requirements for the 10-12 Graduation Program. This position includes scheduling students, ensuring students have the correct courses and number of credits toward graduation, supporting students with post-secondary applications, transcript application through the BC Transcript Service, and supporting students toward academic success. This position also has 0.2 FTE Behaviour Resource attached to it.

EFFECTIVE DATES : Commencing September 15, 2025 until June 30, 2026
Basic Qualifications : A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following :
Training Specialization : Secondary Education with a specialization in Special Education
Related Teaching Experience : Recent successful experience as a Resource Teacher
A Reasonable Expectation : based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications : Two or more courses at the 300 or 400 level in Special Education

Resource Teacher
A resource teacher ideally has a major in Special Education. Specific training in supporting neurodiverse students is desirable.
The Candidate should be able to provide demonstrated experience and ability in the following :
The resource teacher provides services to students and staff in the regular classroom as well as alternate environments and must be able to work in a collaborative and consultative manner with classroom teachers, principals, the school-based team, special education assistants and others.
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
