Description
Leadership & Team Development :
Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of 150+ employees across multiple departments, including department managers and supervisors.Recruit, onboard, and develop top talent to ensure a high-performing team that meets the store's strategic goals.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.Develop team members through coaching, performance feedback, and training programs to ensure continuous growth and development.
Operational Excellence :
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by managing processes and workflows, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and store organization.Proactively identify and address store-specific needs, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.Maintain a clean, welcoming, and functional store environment for customers and employees alike.
Merchandising & Inventory Management :
Oversee and execute merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, inventory turnover, and seasonal transitions.Leverage market trends, customer insights, and micro-season data to adjust product offerings and layouts effectively.Collaborate with department managers to ensure product availability and timely stock replenishment.
Customer Experience :
Champion a customer-first mindset by creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring consistent, high-quality service.Handle escalated customer concerns professionally, using them as opportunities to improve processes and service standards.Engage with customers on the retail floor to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Loss Prevention & Security :
Implement and maintain loss prevention programs to minimize shrinkage and safeguard store assets.Train team members on security protocols, fraud detection, and best practices for theft prevention.Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to loss prevention policies and address potential vulnerabilities.
Financial Oversight :
Analyze and manage budgets, sales performance, and operating expenses to meet or exceed financial targets.Prepare and present reports on key metrics, identifying trends and proposing strategies for improvement.Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute financial plans that align with business goals.
Community Engagement :
Act as a brand ambassador, building strong partnerships within the community and representing the company at local events.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience leading associates in a large retail environment with sales volume exceeding $20M annually. 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships in a matrixed environment.Experience building partnerships within the community.Experience analyzing and using customer, market, and competitor data to inform decisions and business planning.
Skills :
Strong organizational skills, computer literacy, and the ability to multitask with a sense of urgency.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge :
Familiarity with all store departments, including garden center products and seasonal merchandise.A deep understanding of retail operations and customer engagement principles.
