JomboneChilliwack, British ColumbiaThe Role : As a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Emergency Room Mental Health Unit, you will deliver specialized care to patients facing mental health crises. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to assess, stabilize, and support individuals while working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities :
Perform mental health assessments and contribute to the development of initial treatment plans.
Provide immediate crisis intervention and stabilization, employing effective de-escalation techniques.
Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate individualized care.
Monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and available community resources.
Ensure a safe and supportive care environment by adhering to clinical protocols and safety guidelines.
Requirements :
Current and valid LPN license in good standing.
Certification in BLS and ACLS; mental health certifications are a strong asset.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency care, mental health, or a related healthcare setting.
Proficiency in crisis intervention and strong critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
Knowledge of mental health legislation, ethical standards, and best practices.
