The Role : As a Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. You will collaborate closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to support procedures such as MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and angiograms while maintaining a calm and reassuring environment for patients.
Responsibilities :
Assess patient health status and readiness prior to imaging procedures, ensuring clear understanding of each step involved.
Prepare and administer necessary medications, including contrast agents, and monitor for adverse reactions.
Collaborate with the radiology team during procedures to ensure patient safety and manage any emergent situations.
Educate patients and their families on imaging procedures, pre- and post-care instructions, and address any questions or concerns.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements :
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging environment.
BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional training in imaging or procedural sedation is an asset.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
