Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our Powertrain and Electronics team in San Carlos, CA to support development of the Joby S4 Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing vehicle. This individual will be responsible for designing hardware for various systems that power and control the aircraft. This position requires a relentless drive for engineering excellence and the ability to balance complex competing objectives and priorities. The position will work cross-functionally and be responsible for the entire development cycle from early architecture through production.

Responsibilities

• Design components, subassemblies, and systems
• Perform analysis (models / simulation) to support design decisions
• Plan / execute development tests to support design decisions
• Work with external vendors and internal manufacturing / fabrication teams to build hardware
• Work with the testing team to support verification testing of hardware

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $98,200 - $130,900 / yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
