Job descriptionParticipate in designing and developing complex mechanical systems, including product architecture and detailed specifications Develop designs for parts and assemblies, including sheet metal, plastic, extrusions, and cast parts, considering fabrication techniques and tolerances Coordinate with supply chain and procurement on design for manufacturability and material selection Plan and execute prototype builds for R&D Estimate work scope and review development schedules Make decisions to meet project goals under supervision Work in an office and clean lab environment with minimal exposure to hazards
Job Title : Mechanical Designer - NI-IP Organization
As a Mechanical Designer in the NI-IP Organization, you will be responsible for designing the latest products and prototypes. This role requires self-motivated individuals capable of managing complex designs from concept to production release. You will collaborate with highly motivated engineering teams and are expected to drive your designs through the development process.
Qualifications :
- Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized university
- Experience with telecom electronic system packaging mechanical design
- 5+ years of design experience is an asset
- Understanding of thermal design for electronic equipment
- Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, and die casting
- Proficiency with PTC PRO / E CREO tools
- Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with telecom industry standards (Telcordia and ETSI)
- Understanding of regulatory product qualification
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with good communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Proficient in MS Office tools
