The Town of Paradise is now accepting applications for Mechanic within the Public Works Department.ResponsibilitiesUnder the general direction of the Forepersons, Transportation Services, this position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Town's fleet of heavy equipment and light duty vehicles.QualificationsA Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic is required;Registered and in good standing with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador;At least three (3) years of experience in repair of automobiles and heavy equipment is required;Completion of safety courses is an asset;A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required;General computer and software diagnostics skills;Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; andMust be physically and medically able to do all aspects of the position.This is a unionized position working 40 hours per week. Shift work and overtime will be required. The annual salary for this position is $79,609.73 per the Collective Agreement.
