The Opportunity :
Beginning in the 2025-26 academic year, we are seeking two Math Teachers to work in our Middle and Senior School on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience teaching Middle School Math, specifically with students in Grade 7 and 9. In a community where social-emotional learning and diversity, equity and inclusion are key priorities, the successful candidate demonstrates empathy, creativity, strong communication skills and the ability to build a caring rapport with students and colleagues. The successful candidate will join the Math team and report to the Instructional Leader of the department.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to :
Using a lens of social-emotional learning, create a class environment and rapport that inspires and supports learning and personal growth;
Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education in accordance with each students ability;
Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other staff members;
Ensure the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with the IB and Ministry of Education curriculum ensuring differentiation;
Develop culturally relevant, inclusive and responsive Math curriculum for diverse learners;
Develop course outlines, unit plans, lesson plans ensuring integration of all aspects of the IB Middle Years Program curricula, with a focus on inquiry based learning;
Update all necessary records accurately as required by the Ministry, IBO and school guidelines;
Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress including formally through report cards and parent-teacher meetings;
Keep up-to-date and incorporate best practices in subject area and approaches to teaching and learning through professional reading, participating in workshops and other professional development opportunities;
Participate actively in faculty and department / division meetings and meet regularly with all course teams to plan, review and update the written curriculum;
Assume responsibility for and participate in co-curricular activities and supervision duties;
Participate as an Advisor, mentoring students and meeting them regularly.
Candidate Profile :
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a specialist in Math;
Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with I / S qualifications in Math;
Minimum three teaching experience preferred;
Experience in and knowledge of IB is a strong asset;
Strong curriculum development skills and assessment practices that incorporate strategies relevant to the age and stage assessment practices;
A relational educator who incorporates Social-Emotional Learning and emotional coaching strategies in their practice;
Experience and / or desire to incorporate principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in curriculum;
Knowledge of relevant technology and able to work in a laptop and online environment;
Adept at delivering an education program electronically and able to use electronic communication to correspond with students, parents, colleagues and the community at large;
Belief in and alignment with Branksome Hall’s mission, vision and values :

Target Hiring Range : $68,505.39 - $130,433.64 (placement on the grid is determined based on qualifications and years of eligible and related experience)
