Market Data Analyst / Project Manager [Financial Services only]

Montreal, QC

Skills Required :

5-7 years of technology project management experience

Must come from a financial services firm / industry

Coordination with various managers and technical personnel during all project phases

Proven ability to manage delivery / execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives.

Proven ability to work in a fast paced highly demanding environment.

Experience working with client facing groups, market data teams and a full knowledge of exchanges and how they work. (NYSE, Nasdaq, BATS.etc)

Knowledge of computer networking topology.

Knowledge of and the low latency and real time market data environment.

Knowledge of working with data B2B providers like BT and TNS.

Proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various Business, Technology, Operations, Control partners and stakeholders.

Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and communicate in both technical and non-technical terms.

Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to interact at all levels of the organization and tailor messages appropriately.

Strong presentation skills, including ability to synthesize large amounts of data and information to create polished presentations for management.Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines.

Eagerness to learn the business and understand detailed requirements.

Experience working with cross functional teams, including Operations, Design / Arch Technology, Risk and Compliance.

Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio, and MS Teams.Confidence, Impact & Influence, Interpersonal Awareness & Team Player.

Dynamic get-it-done, results-oriented & value driven with demonstrated ability to make timely & sound decisions.

Familiar with network infrastructure, IT Infrastructure and network architecture.

Expertise and experience in workflow management software (e.g., Jira) and ServiceNow.

Expertise in all Microsoft Office tools, especially Power Point, Excel, and Microsoft Project.

Ability to identify problems and provide a path for resolution or escalation.

Proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various stakeholder teams.

Ability to work independently and proactively and possess a strong sense of accountability / ownership.

Qualifications :

BS / BA degree required.

PMP a plus

CNNA a plus

A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in project management, product management in the finance and technology field.

Proven related experience preferable in the financial services industry, Wealth Management, Low Latency, Market Data and Trading Desk or management consulting.

Job Description

About the Position

  • is seeking a technical project manager with market data experience who must be from the financial services industry with experience in real time market data, electronic trading and / or low latency technology services.

The role will focus on critical day-to-day activities associated with the coordination of new client connectivity and extranet services.

This role is hands-on, in a fast paced and high-volume environment.

As a technical project manager, you would be responsible for multiple ongoing projects throughout their execution cycle to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope and timeline. As a member of the team, you will manage client subscriptions, installation of new market data services, coordinating and installing new market data client connectivity, 3rd party client onboarding and electronic trading services.

The technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing medium / large cross-functional enterprise projects and initiatives in compliance with

  • s defined project management standards with the goal of delivering the project objectives and key results on time.
  • This role will coordinate across a multi-disciplinary team with a key focus on the MS SETI / Low Latency, roadmap creation, program delivery, risk monitoring, scope management, and management reporting.

    The individual will collaborate with partners in the business, technology and risk and control functions. This role is not a PMO position.

    The role is not a manager role and does not lead a team.

    This role is not a scrum master, not an SDM, not an engineer and not a network architect.

    Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following :

    Ensure quality execution and proven ability to deliver the various complex projects & initiatives within constraints (schedule, solution challenges & scope).

    Manage day-to-day technical project management tasks, including monitoring progress and aggregating key success metrics, engaging stakeholders, managing risks and issues, working through dependencies identified by project specialists, quality assurance tracking and oversight, collecting / sharing lessons learned, and reporting / presenting updates to all stakeholders.

    Participate in and facilitate discussions between business owners, stakeholders, and IT specialists, including scheduling meetings, taking meeting notes, and documenting and tracking follow-up itemsPartner with all functional disciplines impacted by the project / initiatives to ensure that the end to end planning is comprehensive.

    Assume a leadership role in the collection, review and publication of comprehensive documentation of requirements, assumptions, changes in scope and other aspects of the project with the ultimate goal of demonstrating that these activities have been addressed.

    Provide project planning, management and mechanisms to capture & monitor remediation of any potential risks.

    In addition, enable appropriate escalation of any item that may impact timely delivery or cause a change to the agreed scope of project.

    Ensure accurate and consistent reporting of project risks, dependencies and issues escalating and tracking deviations from plan across all governance forums.

    Work weekends when required to ensure projects are completed on time and communicate to all stakeholders.

    Technically project manage several management initiatives, including : integration of systems as part of

  • mergers / acquisitions.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure is a must.
