Career Opportunities (sapsf.com) General Purpose Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Shared Services and in direct partnership with the College of Art and Ontario Agricultural College Guelph campus leadership team, the IT Operations manager will lead a local campus IT team and perform operational IT duties to deliver integrated IT services that align with the University of Guelph IT ecosystem. As an experienced IT Manager, the IT Operations Manager will have broad technical knowledge in multiple IT domains including network infrastructure, endpoint computing, servers, web, data security and privacy, technical support, audio / visual classroom technology, vendor management and campus IT services and be able to work with University of Guelph central Computing and Communications Services (CCS), and other partners to align and deliver services accordingly. Duties and Responsibilities With oversight from the Senior Manager of IT Shared Services, the IT Operations Manager will manage the local IT staff and perform operational IT duties to assist them. The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the work of the local IT resources delivering the technical services to align with the strategy and priorities set by the college leadership and under guidance from the Sr. Manager of IT Shared Services, in accordance with University of Guelph central services and systems, including the leadership and supervision of their day-to-day work and responsibility for the deliverables. The IT Operations manager is responsible for influencing direction to align with University IT services delivery, developing consensus amongst the team, and leading the planning of the technical direction and execution of required activities to support the outcomes. The IT Operations Manager works with the Sr. Manager of IT Shared Services to develop project roadmaps, project plans, assign and monitors resources, acts as a mentor for team members and works with client stakeholders and external vendors. The incumbent also participates in strategic planning, making recommendations on budget requirements to the Sr Manager of IT Shared Services and the college leadership. The IT Operations manager supports the college IT staff in their duties and assignments in all technical domains. Note : This position does not include managing IT at OAC - Ridgetown Campus Requirements An Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field plus at least 6 years of relevant experience. Broad range of technical skills and knowledge in all areas of technology. Strong IT leadership skills including project management, business analysis and change management. Proven ability to manage a team to deliver results. Understanding of IT practices in an academic environment to be able to deliver campus IT services. Strong communications skills to be able to partner with University of Guelph IT groups to align services. Strong IT security knowledge to be able to implement policies and procedures that align with central IT and governance policies.
