Job description

We are seeking a highly accomplished Oracle e-Business Suite Technical Analyst for an enterprise-level contract opportunity. In this role, you will take on a key technical engineering capacity, specializing in providing technical development, application configuration, and operational support for Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) modules and custom solutions built on Oracle technology.

As a principal technical analyst, you will bridge the gap between functional financial requirements, technical system configurations, and operational support streams. Operating within a hybrid work model, you will lead custom APEX and PL/SQL application development, execute unit and user acceptance testing, author complex database scripts, and support enterprise Oracle implementations. This position is ideal for a quantitative technical authority who can translate stakeholder needs into robust Oracle solutions while guiding system configurations and maintenance.

Location: Guelph, ON / Remote (Hybrid within Ontario)

Assignment Type: Hybrid (Majority remote, onsite for meetings, workshops, and training)

Contract Duration: 5-month contract

Advantages
Diverse Oracle Ecosystem: Expand technical depth across Oracle EBS, APEX, PL/SQL, Oracle Databases, Forms, Reports, and BI Publisher.

Full SDLC Ownership: Drive end-to-end development, from initial requirement negotiation to configuration, testing, and operational handover.

Modern Tooling & Infrastructure: Work within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, utilizing shell scripting and modern project tools like Azure DevOps.

Flexible Working Arrangement: Enjoy majority-remote working flexibility paired with targeted onsite collaboration for strategic sessions.

Responsibilities
Support existing Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) installations, custom extensions, and standalone solutions built on Oracle technology.

Elicit, analyze, and negotiate technical requirements with business leads and functional project teams.

Plan configuration and development tasks, providing accurate effort estimates and technical implementation strategies.

Design, build, configure, and maintain Oracle applications, custom extensions, APEX applications, and backend database objects.

Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts to ensure operational readiness.

Provide tiered operational support, performing root-cause analysis, defect remediation, and system performance tuning.

Write, maintain, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, views, and RHEL shell scripts.

Collaborate with cross-functional project squads to ensure seamless system updates, documentation, and technical knowledge transfer.

Qualifications
Core Requirements & Technical Capabilities
Education: Undergraduate degree (Master's preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Oracle Technical Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive development and technical analyst experience specializing in Oracle EBS and core Oracle technologies.

Oracle Technology Stack: Deep hands-on experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Databases, PL/SQL, APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and BI Publisher.

OS & Scripting: Solid proficiency working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems and Unix/Linux shell scripting.

Testing & Support: Proven track record conducting unit/integration testing, supporting UAT, and driving operational support for financial applications.

Preferred Assets
Domain Exposure: Prior experience within financial services, financial systems, or the higher education sector is highly valued.

DevOps & Tracking Tools: Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps for project tracking, task management, and work traceability.

Soft Skills & Leadership Attributes
Communication & Liaison: Superior verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Organizational Change & Facilitation: Strong leadership, influencing, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills aligned with organizational change management principles.

Adaptability & Planning: Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities to adapt planning dynamically to stakeholder needs.
