Job description

Shane Homes Group of Companies is thrilled to announce an opening for a Construction Administrator to join our Estimating Team at our Head Office in Calgary, AB. This hands-on coordination role is ideal for someone who understands residential homebuilding workflows and enjoys keeping complex details organized.

Why Join Shane Homes?

At Shane Homes, people are our priority. Whether it's our teammates, homeowners, or the communities we serve, we are committed to doing the right thing and treating everyone fairly. We offer more than just jobs - we design futures and build careers. This means our team members are empowered to take control of their journey with the encouragement and support of their leaders.

We reward our employees for their hard work and dedication towards meeting company goals with our unique profit-sharing program. Shane Homes strives to build a culture focused on family values, community involvement and continuous innovation within the home building industry.

Here's What You Bring to the Team:

As a Construction Administrator at Shane Homes, you are a highly organized and dependable professional who brings accuracy, strong follow-through, and a service-minded approach. You will help ensure essential construction documents, timelines, and information move smoothly between Estimating, field teams, trades, suppliers, customers, and external agencies.

We Would Love It If You Had These Too:

  • Previous administrative experience in residential homebuilding is an asset.

  • Practical knowledge of construction documentation and workflows, including permits, change orders, selections, warranty registrations, and job files.

  • Strong computer skills and confidence learning company software, vendor portals, document-management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent organization, accuracy, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills and a service-minded approach with field staff, trades, suppliers, customers, and agencies.

  • Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while escalating risks and keeping stakeholders informed.

Here's What Your Day-To-Day Could Look Like:

  • Prepare work orders and construction packages for trades, suppliers, customers, Project Managers, and Area Managers, as applicable.

  • Apply for building permits and follow submissions through completion.

  • Process approved change orders and interior-selection packages accurately and on time.

  • Coordinate off-site supplier selections, required information, and timelines.

  • Support trades and suppliers with inquiries and vendor-portal questions.

  • Call for utility locates and complete applicable ATCO Gas and energy-service enrolment forms.

  • Process Real Property Reports, Alberta New Home Warranty applications, certificates of possession, engineering letters, and other construction correspondence.

  • Maintain complete customer and job files and support Estimators with administrative priorities.

  • Provide reception backup.

Here's Why You'll Love Working with Us:

  • People First Culture - We promote a dynamic and supportive workplace where being your authentic self is highly encouraged.

  • Industry-Leading Profit-Sharing Program - We offer a unique Profit-Sharing Program that is designed to reward our valued employees for their hard work and dedication.

  • Outstanding Compensation & Benefits -Enjoy a competitive salary and robust benefits package that includes dental, vision, paramedical, prescription drugs, out-of-country medical coverage and a health spending account.

  • Ongoing Development Opportunities - Benefit from continuous training, education, and skill enhancement to encourage your growth.
