Job description
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing, managing everything from gross-to-net calculations to final processing and journal entry generation.

  • Prepare detailed payroll worksheets to process employee lifecycle changes, including onboarding, terminations, statutory leaves, and pay adjustments.

  • Support daily operational adjustments by auditing HR reports, updating employee records, and modifying schedules.

  • Address and resolve payroll and time-tracking discrepancies through targeted investigation and record reviews.

  • Manage timecard submissions, manual entries, and labor cost allocations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and management inquiries via the payroll inbox, delivering responsive service in line with privacy laws.

  • Partner closely with HR and Benefits teams to streamline pay-related updates and cross-functional workflows.

  • Drive system efficiency by leveraging Employee and Manager Self-Service (ESS/MSS) tools.

  • Keep payroll records, documentation, and files fully prepared for internal and external audit reviews.

  • Monitor changes in Canadian privacy regulations, employment legislation, and collective agreements to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Assist with cross-training initiatives and additional team projects as needed.


What you must have:

  • Active Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation (or equivalent qualification).

  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll operations.

  • At least 6 months of direct, practical experience utilizing both Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking modules.

  • Proven grasp of payroll software capabilities, workflow design, and overall system logic.

  • Solid foundational knowledge of payroll accounting standards and principles.

  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Exceptional analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and a collaborative team mindset.
