Job Title: Line Associate
Job Description
The Line Associate is an entry-level position working along a food production line to support the preparation, assembly, and packaging of pastry products. You will monitor items as they move through the machinery, help roll or fill pastries depending on the product of the day, and ensure that finished goods meet quality standards before packaging. This role involves repetitive tasks in a cold, fast-paced environment and plays a key part in maintaining consistent product quality and food safety.
Responsibilities
- Work along the production line to ensure each item passes correctly through the machine and is properly placed on the conveyor.
- Learn and perform pastry rolling or filling tasks based on the product being manufactured that day.
- Conduct visual inspections of dough to identify quality defects before adding fillings.
- Place, align, and adjust products on the line to maintain consistent quality and presentation.
- Monitor the production process and promptly report any issues with product flow, machine performance, or quality concerns.
- Work at the end of the line to check that finished items are correctly packaged and meet quality expectations.
- Perform repetitive production and packaging tasks while maintaining accuracy and speed.
- Follow all food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Remove all jewelry before entering the production area in compliance with GMP regulations.
- Work safely around machinery in a loud, fast-paced environment, using required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the production line.
- Collaborate with team members and follow direction from supervisors to meet production targets.
- Stand for extended periods (8–9 hours per day) while performing line work.
- Handle and work with meat products and various ingredients such as milk and wheat.
- Adapt to working in a cold environment maintained at approximately 5–8 degrees Celsius.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in a food manufacturing or food production environment.
- Experience working on a production or assembly line in a repetitive manner.
- Ability to perform packaging and general labor tasks in a production setting.
- Ability to stand for 8–9 hours per day while working on the line.
- Ability to work comfortably in cold temperatures of approximately 5–8 degrees Celsius.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Comfort working with meat products and various food ingredients, including milk and wheat.
- Ability to follow food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including removal of all jewelry.
- Capability to work in a loud environment with flour dust in the air and tight corners.
- Reliability in attending scheduled afternoon shifts and adapting to different start times as required.

- Experience with production packaging or assembly line work.
- Comfort working without public transit options available at the end of afternoon shifts.
- Ability to learn new line tasks quickly, such as pastry rolling or filling.
- Willingness to perform tasks that may be physically demanding and repetitive.
- Comfort working in an environment without windows and with constant machine noise.
- Attention to product quality through consistent visual inspection.
- Flexibility to work where needed on the line, including at the beginning, middle, or end of the production process.

Work Environment
You will work on the quiche production line within a food manufacturing facility that is divided between office and production areas. The production area is organized by product line and by stages of production, including preparation, cooking, and packaging. The facility temperature generally ranges from 15–20 degrees Celsius, with the production area maintained at approximately 5–8 degrees Celsius, similar to the inside of a refrigerator, due to meat storage and food safety requirements. The production floor is fast paced, with tight corners, flour dust in the air, loud machinery, and no windows. Afternoon shifts typically run from 3:00 . to 12:00 . and from 4:30 . to 1:00 ., and you must be comfortable working either shift, as scheduling is based on operational needs. There is no public transit available at the end of the afternoon shifts, so reliable transportation is necessary. Production staff wear lab coats, hairnets, safety shoes, and ear plugs in accordance with safety and GMP standards, and all jewelry must be removed before entering the production area. The environment involves regular contact with ingredients such as milk, wheat, and meat products, and the work requires standing for most of the shift while performing repetitive line and packaging tasks.
